Blue Sky training

During their contract with us, Blue Sky employees will receive training in some or all of the following skills:

  • Understanding of on-site/yard company Health and Safety legislation
  • Understanding of Personal Health and Safety legislation
  • Understanding the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER)

The safe use of:

  • Strimmers and basic maintenance, incorporating Health & Safety/PUWER
  • Hedge cutters and basic maintenance, in line with Health & Safety legislation
  • Blowers and basic maintenance, in line with Health & Safety legislation

Grounds maintenance and landscaping skills:

  • Grass and hedge-cutting
  • Hoeing
  • Weeding
  • Edging/Trimming
  • Digging
  • Shrub and Tree Pruning
  • Laying out and planting of bedding
  • Removal of weeds and litter from beds, plant containers, pathways and grassed areas
  • Watering of containers, flower beds and plants
  • Collection and removal of waste
  • Strimming and general maintenance
  • All other landscaping duties

England and Wales release 90,000 prisoners each year; 60% of prisoners re-offend within 2 years.            Re-offending costs England and Wales £12 billion each year.            Employment reduces re-offending by 33-50% but 75% of ex-offenders have no job on release.
